Times in ►Between Mom and Jo is named an Honor
Book for the first ever James Cook Teen Book Award given by the Ohio Library
Council. The award recognizes books that promote and celebrate cultural,
ethnic and social diversity; demonstrate excellence in writing; and have a
wide appeal to a teen audience. What an honor! ►Read author
interviews at Finding Wonderland and OASIS Journals. I always say a
great interview is all about the questions. ►Luna has been nominated
for four—count ‘em four—readers’ choice state book
awards, including the Vermont Green Mountain Book Award, Rhode Island Teen
Book Award, Missouri Gateway Book Award, and the Michigan Thumbs Up! Award. You have to love

To the utter amazement and absolute shock
of everyone I know – including me – I became an author…
An author? I never wanted to be an author. I thought authors were just a
bunch of dead people. Okay, sometimes I'm brain-dead (does that count?). As a
child I wasn't a reader. You’ve heard of reluctant readers? I was a
recalcitrant reader. You couldn’t make
me read.
