I've been hooked on this series for a while now and I must say, the audio books have been a great addition. I mean, if I've already read the books and I'm still enjoying them through audio, that should tell you something about how much I recommend them. What sets this book and the series apart from other paranormal romances is the charming and whimsical nature of the characters and plot lines, kind of like the books by Kerrelyn Sparks. It's not all dark and gloomy, there's a good balance of fun and excitement. Trust me, it's the perfect listen for a summer vacation.
I had previously read this book, so the plot wasn't a surprise. I've thoroughly enjoyed every installment in this series. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the narrator, particularly when he portrayed Lachlan's character. Just a heads up, there are explicit sexual scenes in the story, so consider that before deciding to read it. It's definitely one of those turbulent love stories that often stems from misunderstandings. I did grow a bit weary of the heroine and felt that she treated the hero unfairly for an extended period. Nevertheless, I still genuinely enjoyed the story and would immediately purchase the second book, if only the service had it available!
The narrator for this audiobook is hands down one of the best I've come across. Their ability to handle different dialects is truly impressive. A fellow listener made a great point about the main character, a woman who feels incredibly authentic. It's refreshing to see a female lead who isn't just a whiny, tough-as-nails badass that we see in so many other books. No wonder these types of women struggle to maintain relationships. Emiline, on the other hand, gradually grows into her strength, and it feels so genuine. If you're a fan of romance and werewolves, I highly recommend giving this book a go. It's absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't get enough of it. Big thanks to all the service listeners who suggested this gem.
Oh man, this paranormal romance is off the charts! It's got everything you could want - action, drama, suspense, and a whole bunch of supernatural beings that will blow your mind. It's seriously one of the best paranormal romances out there. And let me tell you, this book is just the beginning of an epic series with some seriously awesome secondary characters.
Lachlain, the alpha male protagonist, is a total badass with a heart of gold. He's been through some crazy stuff in his centuries-long life, but he's still caring and sexy as hell. And then there's Emma, our leading lady. She starts off a bit weak, but she transforms into a total powerhouse as she spends more time with Lachlain. She's smart, witty, and has this timeless grace that makes everyone around her jealous.
The Valkyries, Emma's family, are a fascinating bunch and I'm so glad the author is continuing their stories in future books. This paranormal romance is fresh and addictive, and I guarantee you'll want to read it over and over again. And can we talk about the narrator, Robert Petkoff? He takes this already amazing book and brings it to a whole new level. Trust me, you won't be able to get enough of his narration.
This audiobook was absolutely amazing! It had me hooked from beginning to end. The story was fantastic, with a perfect blend of diverse characters and a wide range of emotions. It even had some unexpected surprises that added to the overall enjoyment. The narration was superbly done, adding to the overall greatness of the experience.
