I had a really good time with this book, but there were some big issues with the audio. There were some serious electronic problems that kept causing the chapters to skip ahead and then jump back to earlier chapters. It got really frustrating and I ended up swapping out the title. It was just too much of a hassle trying to constantly find my place.
Jan Karen, thank you for delivering such a heartwarming and delightful story in "A Light in the Window: The Mitford Years, Book 2". This book truly captures the essence of purity and sweetness, while also incorporating humor and heartfelt moments that tug at the heartstrings.
I absolutely adored it! The characters undergo further personal and spiritual development, which was truly inspiring. It motivated me to show compassion towards others, nurture my spiritual growth, and seek out God's purpose for my own life. The narrator is an ideal fit for this story as he captures the essence of Father Tim's voice just as I had imagined, while also skillfully adapting his tone to portray other characters like Dooly or Cynthia.
I gave this series a listen a few years back. With the way things are in the world right now, I needed a break and decided to revisit this delightful tale. And boy, am I glad I did! Each book in the series is a gem and definitely worth revisiting. So, why not step away from all the chaos and negativity and dive back into the charming world of a quaint country town filled with fascinating characters? Trust me, you won't regret it.
John McDonough did an absolutely fantastic job as the narrator for this book! His portrayal of Father Tim was so vivid and brought the character to life in the most incredible way!
