  • I'm a huge fan of Sarah MacLean. This audiobook was my introduction to her work and I'm totally addicted now. Big shoutout to Sarah and the awesome service for getting me hooked!
  • I absolutely adored this story! I had initially expected it to be another typical "bad boy meets his match" kind of plot, but it turned out to be so much more than that. The connection between the characters has a beautiful backstory that reveals they have been in love for years! The intimate scenes were superb, and the supporting characters added depth to the overall narrative. I eagerly await the next book in the series and hope to see more works from Sarah MacLean available.
  • I had a tough time buying into the characters in this tale. They seemed to be stuck in a never-ending cycle of far-fetched emotions. At first, he came off as completely self-centered and refused to acknowledge his own errors throughout most of the narrative, but then he unexpectedly transformed into a flawless individual. On the other hand, she started off as a pushover, but out of the blue morphed into a fierce and powerful woman. It all felt quite unrealistic.
  • Sarah MacLean's initial novel was an enjoyable read, but her second one failed to impress. Unfortunately, "A Rogue by Any Other Name" falls into the category of being downright dull. However, it must be said that Rosalyn Landor's performance remains commendable as usual. Despite her talent, the material she has to work with in this particular audiobook is rather lacking.
  • Rosalyn Landor's narrations never fail to delight me. 'A Rogue by Any Other Name' is a delightful romance filled with a courageous heroine and a hero who underestimates his own worth. The main characters share a deep friendship from their childhood. However, circumstances lead the hero to lose his fortune through gambling, while the heroine becomes a spinster. Driven by revenge, they enter into a marriage of convenience to help him reclaim his inheritance. Along the way, they face misunderstandings but eventually rediscover each other, leading to a heartwarming happily ever after. It's a captivating audiobook that made my daily commute thoroughly enjoyable.
  • As usual, Rosalyn Landor did a fantastic job with the narration of this audiobook. However, I found the novel itself to be disappointing. The main character, Bourne, comes across as immature and disrespectful. He mistreats his former friend, Penelope, by pressuring her into marriage solely to regain the land he lost in a card game years ago. Instead of taking responsibility for his actions, Bourne blames others and becomes involved in a gambling establishment, causing harm to anyone he can without remorse. When Bourne discovers that his desired land is now owned by a neighbor who has offered it as part of Penelope's dowry, he resorts to abducting and compromising her to achieve his goals. By the end of the book, we're expected to believe that Bourne has experienced personal growth, developed a conscience, and genuinely loves his wife. It seems implausible that she would forgive his past behavior, but the story concludes with a happily ever after. I understand that this is a work of fiction, but the plot of this novel requires a considerable suspension of disbelief. Despite my initial interest in listening to Rosalyn Landor's narration, even her talent couldn't salvage this book. While it appears that many readers enjoy this story, I respect that everyone has their own preferences.
