I've never come across a book as terrible as this one. The author's constant spreading of hatred left me feeling polluted. It would be better off with a title change to "Because of My Hatred." The author's intolerance is so extreme that she believes all Muslims are terrorists. I've decided to remove it from my collection entirely.
This audiobook definitely opened my eyes to both expected and unexpected revelations. It became clear that the Muslim community should bear greater responsibility for tolerating such hatred and terror among them.
The author's narrative and perspective are truly astonishing. The only aspect that didn't resonate with me was the author's preachy tone in the concluding chapters of the book.
I really admire individuals who have the courage to speak the truth, even when it goes against the popular opinion. Brigitte Gabriel bravely shares her personal journey and expertise on Islam. She convincingly demonstrates how Islam is far from being the "religion of peace" that the media often tries to portray.
This book is a truly powerful experience. It offers a unique perspective, as it is told from the point of view of someone who has endured unimaginable persecution. While this does provide a singular viewpoint, it is an incredibly impactful one that is rarely explored. If you have an interest in gaining insight and understanding the true nature of recent Lebanese/Israeli history, then this audiobook is an absolute must-listen. It goes beyond that, though; it compels you to reconsider your understanding of Middle-East relations and the essence of Islam. It is definitely worth using your credit on and is a compelling listen. I am certain that I will revisit it in the near future, as it is one of the few books I would listen to twice. Enjoy, but be prepared, as some descriptions are deeply sorrowful and distressing, yet they hold great significance.
The book kicks off with the author's personal journey as a young girl in Lebanon, when Lebanon resembled the US until the Muslims took over politically and threw the nation into war. She recounts her experiences of life in the Middle East and how she was raised as a Christian, but also exposed to anti-Semitic beliefs that she later discovered were misguided. As the book unfolds, she delves into the efforts of Islamic organizations and Islam itself to subject us to the same fate that befell Lebanon, utilizing time, patience, and, above all, our rights, freedoms, and Constitution against us. It's a captivating read that kept me engaged throughout, even if it did become somewhat repetitive towards the end.
In summary, if you're prepared to gain a deeper understanding of the world we find ourselves struggling in today, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this book!
This book has truly opened my eyes like no other. While the author shares her personal challenges with the Islamic faith, she primarily relies on factual evidence to shed light on the dark side of the religion. If you have any curiosity about the reasons behind the animosity against us in the Middle East, I highly recommend giving this book a read.
The author skillfully depicts some disturbing events without being overly explicit. It's something I can handle without feeling overwhelmed. She shares a narrative that is crucial for Americans to be aware of. She sheds light on the reasons behind the complexities of the Middle Eastern region. She highlights certain aspects that might go unnoticed by Americans who haven't experienced conflict firsthand, but are essential for our own survival in the coming times. Christians should definitely make it a point to read this book.
Do our politicians ever take the time to educate themselves about our nation's adversaries and how they threaten our values and way of life? I implore all Americans to open their eyes and make informed decisions when voting, rather than being swayed by media sensationalism. The undeniable and abundant evidence repeatedly demonstrates that Islamic extremists are actively planning to bring destruction upon our country, and we must take this seriously. Personally, I share the sentiment of many who are skeptical of the war in Iraq, but the author of this book presents a compelling argument that makes it clear to me that withdrawing from Iraq would only further diminish America's commitment to safeguarding ourselves.
