Similar to the other books in this series, Beneath These Chains: The Beneath Series, Book 3 explores the complexity of human nature. The characters are not simply categorized as good or bad; rather, their actions and choices shape their identities, just like in real life.
Upon revisiting this book, I found it to be entertaining without eliciting intense emotional reactions. While it doesn't create a strong attachment to the characters, it introduces a multitude of them, and unfortunately, some end up feeling disconnected from the story. One particular character, DJ, who played a significant role at certain points, seems to be neglected in the overall plot resolution. Without giving away too much, he was last seen sleeping, which left loose ends regarding his arc.
Nevertheless, the book does emphasize the importance of familial bonds and depicts the beginning of healing for all involved. With substance abuse as a central theme, the characters' journey towards recovery progresses to various stages by the end of the story.
Lord and Elle's story in 'Beneath These Chains: The Beneath Series, Book 3' was hands down the most epic one so far. The narration by Sebastian York and Andy Arndt was off the charts amazing. I can't stress enough how highly I recommend this book!
I really liked this author. The narration is fantastic and really immerses you in the lives of the characters. The story is vibrant and filled with a lot of love.
I started getting into Meghan March's audiobooks and I really enjoyed the first few, so I decided to keep going. I genuinely like all the books in this series, as each one has its own unique story. Meghan is really good at coming up with creative ideas for each story, even though they all have a similar underlying theme. The only difference is the names, characters, and plots. The narrators did an amazing job, especially Sebastian York and Andi Arndt. They make a great team and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. Meghan has done a fantastic job at developing the characters, and the narrators have brought them to life with their voices. I'm excited to see what Meghan comes up with next.
You'll find everything in this book. A strong, dominant male, a feisty and independent leading lady, a bit of mystery, steamy intimate scenes, and thrilling action. The female protagonist in this story is a woman who struggles with trust and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She's determined not to let any man control her. Add to that an alpha male who is determined to possess and protect her, and you've got a recipe for an intense and passionate power struggle. The narration in this audiobook was fantastic. Definitely worth using a credit for.
I totally dug the twist in this story since I had a hunch about it, but couldn't be completely certain. And let me tell you, Lord's character with his strength and gentlemanly demeanor was totally my jam!
