  • I absolutely adore Lucas Titan, man! This audiobook was sizzling, like seriously, off the charts hot. Another thing that added to my love for it was how awesome the heroine was. The secrets and unknowns surrounding these two characters kept me on edge till the very end, but let me tell you, the happily ever after was totally worth it. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are always a match made in heaven when it comes to narrating, and they couldn't have been more perfect for these two characters. So, take my humble recommendation into consideration, but I'm already gearing up for a second listen, like, right away!
  • I wasn't too sure about this one at first because I didn't really like Lucas Titan in "Beneath This Ink," but he does a complete turnaround in this book. Eve's strong and sassy personality is exactly what he needs to let his guard down. The chemistry between Lucas and Eve is off the charts, but it quickly becomes more than just a casual fling. However, that's not the only thing that makes this story great. It's filled with action, unexpected plot twists, and some seriously steamy scenes. Trust me, once you start listening, you won't want to stop. York and Arndt did an amazing job narrating this one. It's another fantastic addition to the Beneath series and definitely worth using a credit for!
  • Can you believe that a talented female author actually created a storyline where a survivor of domestic abuse, experiencing repeated rape, torture, and severe beatings, is mercilessly bullied by an aggressive jerk and somehow considers it a romantic tale? In the previous books, Eve was depicted as a strong, confident, and assertive businesswoman. So, why on earth would they change such an intriguing and captivating character, turning her into a foolish, weakling who allows herself to be victimized all over again? Lucas is fully aware of Eve's history of being battered and abused, yet he feels no remorse for inflicting emotional and physical harm on her. The so-called "love" scenes were more akin to sexual assault rather than passionate or erotic encounters, leaving a bitter taste of cruelty, detachment, and degradation rather than sensuality. Listening to Eve being stalked by her ex while Lucas continued treating her poorly became far too disheartening, so I decided to give up on this infuriating book. It's truly disheartening when the only likable and non-threatening male character in a romance novel turns out to be a 70+ year old butler!
