Summary
Charlamagne Tha God-the self-proclaimed "Prince of Pissing People Off," co-host of Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, and "hip-hop's Howard Stern"-shares his unlikely success story as well as how embracing one's truths is a fundamental key to success and happiness.
This book presents a collection of outdated ideas, bordering on irrational beliefs and promoting racism. It includes a statement such as "80% of white people are white devils," which is quite ridiculous. The author praises the 5%ers, a racist cult that believes white people were created 6000 years ago by a black scientist to bring destruction to the world. They also highlight individuals like Elijah Mohammed, a self-proclaimed cult leader who had affairs with multiple wives in the Nation of Islam, causing Malcolm X to eventually leave the cult. Additionally, the book glorifies Louis Farrakhan, a contemporary preacher who admires Hitler and unfairly blames the Jewish community for the world's problems.
I absolutely loved this book! It's incredible, authentic, and full of inspiration and motivation. Not to mention, it's hilarious and evokes a rollercoaster of emotions. This book is truly phenomenal.
Being a huge fan of the gritty and no-holds-barred breakfast club interviews, I was dead set on getting my hands on Charlemagne's book. However, when I placed my order, I found out that I wouldn't receive it for another month. Undeterred, I decided to go for the next available option – the audiobook. I devoured this book in a single day and let me tell you, it was quite an adventure. Charlemagne shares some real wisdom and pumps you up in a way that only he can! I feel motivated and empowered to embrace my black privilege with confidence!
The author of this book appears to be attempting to portray himself as something he is not. He consistently emphasizes his supposed tough persona, but I find it hard to believe. It lacks genuineness.
As a 43-year-old homeowner and a parent of four, I must say that "Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It" did not resonate with me. I personally did not find it to be intellectually stimulating, and it was not quite what I had hoped for.
This book was absolutely awesome for a young black individual with rural origins who's stepping into the professional realm! I'm definitely going to check out Gary Vaynerchuck's book next!
I had no clue who this dude was until I gave his book a listen. Gotta admit, I had my doubts at first, but by the end, I felt enlightened and hopeful. It's really made me see things differently and it's even influencing my future choices. I know that's kinda vague, but it's the best I can do. I definitely recommend it.
This audiobook is incredibly uplifting and brutally honest. It tackles a lot of questions and spills all the details. It's truly inspiring for people of all races and genders.
This audiobook is absolutely amazing and inspiring. I want to express my gratitude to Uncle Charla for delivering such powerful content. It's the first time I've ever listened to an audiobook, and it was truly mind-blowing.
