She isn't intimidated by the house - nor its mistress, local legend Roz Harper. Despite a reputation for being difficult, Roz has been nothing but kind to Stella, offering her a comfortable new place to live and a challenging new job as manager of the flourishing nursery. As Stella settles comfortably into her new life, she finds a nurturing friendship with Roz and with expectant mother Hayley. And she discovers a fierce attraction with ruggedly handsome landscaper Logan Kitridge. But someone isn't happy about the budding romance...the Harper Bride. • Absolutely adored this audiobook - the plot, the individuals, the voice-over, everything about it. The subsequent two installments in the sequence are equally impressive, and I was itching to delve into them. An absolute must-have!
  • The characters in the story were decent people, but they didn't captivate me enough to make the plot compelling. I found my mind wandering quite a bit while reading. There was a significant amount of dialogue about ordinary things, which didn't interest or intrigue me. Stella has a penchant for organizing and managing, while Logan is creatively inclined and skilled in landscaping, although less organized in other aspects. However, their relationship didn't draw me in, and the sex scenes didn't have any impact on me. The plot revolving around the ghost wasn't well developed and remained unresolved. They had hired someone to delve into old records and uncover the mystery behind the ghost, but unfortunately, the book ended before any progress could be made on that front. As for the narrator, Susie Breck's performance was decent. Genre: This book falls into the category of contemporary romance, with a touch of the paranormal.
  • I have to say, 'Blue Dahlia: In the Garden, Book 1' is hands down one of the most incredible Nora Roberts novels I've ever come across, which is really saying something. Choosing a favorite character is virtually impossible because I adored all of them. The witty and humorous exchanges between the characters had me bursting into laughter countless times. The story itself is absolutely fantastic, and the ending is truly satisfying. Now let's talk about Susie Breck's narration. She is absolutely brilliant, effortlessly capturing the Yankee and Southern accents with impeccable skill. Overall, listening to this audiobook was an incredibly enjoyable experience. It definitely deserves a solid five-star rating. Needless to say, I can't wait to get my hands on the next books in this series!
