Summary
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
I really enjoyed this book! However, the performer's portrayal of Peeta is a letdown. Instead of capturing his ability to speak and charm people, she makes him come across as unintelligent. While her voice is excellent in other aspects, Peeta should sound intelligent and compelling.
The narration in 'Catching Fire: Hunger Games, Book 2' is top-notch, just like in the first book. It's definitely deserving of recognition and accolades. I can't recommend it enough.
Listening to "Catching Fire: Hunger Games, Book 2" was quite challenging for me at times due to my lack of enthusiasm for the narration. It felt rather monotonous.
