I gotta say, I don't appreciate the insinuation that this audiobook is only meant for deep thinkers. I mean, I love using my brain, expanding my knowledge, and getting lost in a good read...but this one just didn't do it for me.
Personally, I prefer my narratives to be more straightforward. The overall message of this audiobook totally flew over my head, and I struggled to grasp the bigger picture.
I'm a huge fan of Kurt Vonnegut Jr's novels, and this one is definitely my top pick. It feels like the perfect embodiment of everything he's ever written. It's like Vonnegut's version of Ice 9, with all its intense power and impact. It's both incredibly funny and incredibly chilling at the same time. The heartless scientist who brings about the destruction of the world through scientific advancements, and the self-proclaimed phony who somehow becomes a revered savior, are two of Vonnegut's most unforgettable characters.
