  • This audiobook doesn't provide a comprehensive military history of World War II or delve into specific battles. Instead, it offers an opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from those who experienced it. It covers a wide range of soldiers and events in the European Theater of Operations. The performance by Mr. Wilson enhances the overall experience. As someone who has served in the military, I know that a poor performance can make it difficult to enjoy a great book or even make a challenging book more enjoyable. Luckily, this audiobook combines both excellent content and narration. My dad's love for history and his admiration for WW2 veterans (he served during the Korean War) may have influenced my perspective, but I've always believed that WW2 soldiers were truly unique and part of the "greatest generation." Stephen Ambrose's book, Citizen Soldiers, reinforces this belief. Although it's been more than 70 years since the war, I want to express my gratitude to all who served.
  • This book is most likely fantastic, similar to the author's other works. However, the narrator's constant nose whistling, lip smacking, and teeth clucking completely spoiled the experience for me. It was so distracting that I cannot provide an unbiased review of the book itself.
  • I was completely hooked on this book, couldn't put it down! The writing and narration were top-notch. The incredible accomplishments of our country showcased in this story left me in awe. Much gratitude for sharing this extraordinary piece of history.
