The first installment of this trilogy suffers from pacing issues and a lackluster female protagonist, who comes across as feeble and pitiable. However, the audiobook benefits from an engaging narrator.
I really enjoyed this romance, although I must admit that the ending didn't quite hit the spot for me. It left me wanting more, and I'm crossing my fingers that there's a sequel in the works. Fingers crossed!
