I couldn't finish listening to the book, called it quits halfway through. The stories were all over the place and, to be honest, kind of boring at times.
Loving everyone all the time is truly a commandment from God. Thank you, Bob, for sharing these incredible stories that serve as a reminder of our responsibility to love everyone always.
I can't believe this book has almost a perfect rating... I didn't like it at all, I couldn't even finish it. I'm always consuming self-help books, blogs, and podcasts that focus on positive thinking and changing your mindset to improve your life. I thought this book would be right up my alley. However, it turned out to be a collection of the author's life stories, boasting about how amazing his life has been. It didn't offer much practical advice or relatability for the listener. The stories seemed exaggerated and lacked authenticity, which was a major turn-off for me. Don't get me wrong, the author seems like a genuinely nice person, but this book just didn't resonate with me.
This book really got me reflecting on how I prioritize my time and energy as someone who follows Jesus! I'm genuinely impressed by how Bob openly shares his perspective and strategy on showing love to others, without any hint of judgment or condemnation. It's such a revitalizing perspective on the Church and the positive impact we can have on the people in our lives!
I was completely hooked on Love Does, and Everybody, Always had the same effect on me. I'm really grateful that I caught Bob on the radio not too long ago. Thanks for giving me such valuable perspective and teaching me how to love in a more profound and genuine way.
I can't stress how much I love this book. It has quickly become my absolute favorite. I genuinely wish that every single person on Earth could get their hands on a copy and read it.
I gave this audiobook a shot for about 10 minutes, and boy, did it overload me with talk about God and Jesus! It felt like I was getting my lifetime dose of religious content in just that short span of time. I was genuinely surprised because the book's description didn't give any indication that it was specifically catered to hardcore Christians.
I was immediately drawn to this book because of its vibrant cover and intriguing subtitle. Lately, I've been struggling with loving people who really get on my nerves or engage in hurtful behavior. However, this book helped me reconnect with my true self and reminded me of the kind of person I aspire to be. Furthermore, it's a fantastic audiobook that can be enjoyed in a single day.
This audiobook is definitely geared towards those who hold strong religious beliefs. The author frequently mentions Jesus and God throughout the entire narrative.
Such an amazing book...the stories are hilarious, sad, entertaining, and engaging, but the real draw is the desire to learn more about how to love people like Jesus. This book is incredibly convicting, no matter where your love is deficient. Bob does an excellent job showing what it means to love like Jesus, and he also does an excellent job narrating his book. WE WANT A SEQUEL!
I’m getting ready to listen to this treasure again. Bob Goff is the real deal Christian. I came away knowing how much God loves me and how valuable I am. That’s why I’m going back for another dose
I liked it. However, I had a hard time relating to the all the reference to the bible and Jesus. The books premises that everyone should love like Jesus loved everyone. I did like some of the descriptions and analogies regarding how people sometimes pretend to be other than they are and do other than they say they do; all of this against God’s direction of course. I think he is probably a human being with a good message and many people probably think of him as a hero and a witness of Jesus word. He was probably writing to people just like me! However, I could not relate.
What an inspiration! I had the honor of hearing Bob speak in Minneapolis in early May and he had an audience of 1,000 people laughing and crying all at the same time. Not only is he the MOST powerful speaker I've seen in my 17 year professional career (in Corporate America where we've had some pretty powerful speakers) but he's also an incredible writer. I loved every word, his writing style, his jokes about being a lawyer, his examples of being love and the majical way he talks about his wife. That's rare these days to hear a man speak with such authentic love. I took weeks to read the last 5 chapters because I didn't want it to end!
