  • The narrator had a tough time throughout the entire audiobook, except for a few instances involving the Sith and Mandalorian characters. It's unclear whether the narrator received poor direction or if the writing itself was simply of low quality. The occasional Irish or Middle Eastern accents felt incredibly out of place and were cringe-inducing. The story itself was disappointing, as I kept hoping for something truly interesting to occur. With the exception of a well-written fight scene in the middle of the book, there was little to enhance my enjoyment of a story that constantly jumped back and forth, making it difficult to follow. It's hard to believe that I wasted 15 hours of my life listening to this audiobook.
  • The Legacy, Old Republic universe took a refreshing and unique approach with its story in 'Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance'. The production value of this audiobook was top-notch, as expected. However, I personally struggled to connect with the majority of the characters. They seemed numerous and lacked proper development.
  • At first, I found it difficult to form a connection with the characters in 'Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance'. It wasn't until halfway through the book that I genuinely started to care about their fate. However, I have a feeling that in the next installment, I will grow to care for them from start to finish.
  • The story line is pretty solid. I agree with what others have said about it being a bit slow to start but gaining momentum towards the end. Marc Thompson's performance is top-notch, with his ability to breathe life into the story using various voices. The sound effects are on point, not too overwhelming. If you've listened to Thompson's other narrations of the Fate of the Jedi and Legacy of the Force series, you may notice some familiar voices being reused, but it doesn't detract too much from the overall experience. All in all, it's a fantastic listen and worth spending your credit on.
  • I had no clue that this book came with all these background sound effects that could be super annoying. I get it that the producers were trying to spice things up with music and explosions, but sometimes it can be a real headache. Like, in the beginning, there's this dialogue with all these background noises that make you feel like you're stuck in a boring airplane cabin with a microwave beeping from afar every few seconds. It was so annoying that I almost gave up on the whole book.
  • I thought this audiobook was pretty disappointing, especially considering that I've enjoyed all the other Star Wars books to some extent. The story felt lacking in originality, as it seemed to recycle ideas from various Star Wars books. It started off slow, but I decided to stick with it. Unfortunately, the characters were not well-developed and the overall plot left much to be desired. The constant theme of characters switching sides from Sith to Jedi and vice versa became quite frustrating to listen to. I'm a big fan of the Old Republic video games, the Darth Bane books, and the New Jedi Order books and beyond. However, this particular book just didn't meet my expectations. Nevertheless, I'll still give the other books in the series a chance, hoping to find something more worthwhile within this particular timeline.
  • If you're a big Star Wars fan, you'll love the story in 'Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance'. However, what truly elevates the audiobook is Marc Thompson's exceptional performance. With the added special effects and music, this book becomes a truly delightful experience as Marc brings the characters to life. His portrayal is so convincing that it almost feels like you're listening to a whole cast of different characters. I enjoyed it so much that I'm already on my second listen, immediately after finishing it the first time.
  • At first, the pace might seem a bit sluggish, but all in all, 'Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance' stands out as one of the more impressive Star Wars novels in recent memory. It's refreshing to delve into a fresh narrative alongside new and intriguing characters.
  • The narration was definitely the highlight of this story. Marc Thompson's performance elevated an otherwise poorly constructed novel into something tolerable to listen to. While the character development was decent, the overall structure of the book felt lazy and poorly written, resulting in a mix of confusion and boredom. Personally, I couldn't fully immerse myself in a story that constantly retold the same events from multiple perspectives. It became tiresome to hear the same timeline repeated over and over again from different characters' points of view. By the time all the parties came together, I was exhausted and struggled to follow the plot. It felt like a never-ending cycle of repetition. Nevertheless, the narration was top-notch, as always, and there were a few interesting characters that stood out. Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, the exhausting story structure and lackluster plot make it difficult to recommend this audiobook. I would suggest saving your money and 13 hours of your time by skipping this one.
