This series ticks all the boxes for me... No repetitive storylines that go on forever. The author respects the reader's intelligence. There are some fantastic surprises. The characters are well-developed. The story keeps a great pace, and loose ends are tied up in a reasonable timeframe. I must also mention that the length of the book is much appreciated. The author isn't just churning out short books to make a quick buck.
This author deserves a lot of credit in this genre for delivering a unique and sensible plot that doesn't take advantage of the listener/reader just for monetary gain.
I have an extensive library of around 560 books, mostly in the SHTF/post-apocalyptic genre, and I regret not discovering this series sooner.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude for not skimping on the narrator. Many of us, like myself, wish we could sit down and read a book, but that's not always possible, and this service has been a lifeline for me since 2016.
Authors like AA, BA, and BC should take a page from JKF's book and stop exploiting their loyal listeners.
These short books in a series that have already reached four or more installments are starting to feel like an insult. I hope listeners who feel the same way will start writing reviews expressing their thoughts. As for me, I'm done with them. Without a box set option, I won't waste my increasingly limited funds on recycled plots.

I gotta say, this book was on par with the first one! Even though I'm not usually into apocalyptic reads, this series was a total gem. I'll definitely be suggesting it to anyone in need of a solid book recommendation!
I really enjoyed this book. Despite the jumping about in time, I always knew if they were in the present or future. I always knew geographically where they were. The author explained the technology as well so you understood how each article worked. If anything complaint, I will say I usually was about 2 min ahead of the narrator in determining what they should do, though there were twists I never saw coming.
