Summary

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership. In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner…are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon, Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side...and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

  • I really adore the PNR series, Halfway to the Grave. It has such a captivating storyline, a protagonist that I genuinely like, and a British vampire who is undeniably sexy. However, I had a major issue with the audio version, particularly with the British accent of Bones. While the narrator did an excellent job with portraying Cat, I found myself sorely disappointed with how Bones' accent was portrayed. It just didn't sound masculine or alluring to me at all. This book definitely deserves a solid 5-star rating, but the way the narrator brought Bones to life really let me down, and that made me feel a bit saddened.
  • It took me a while to get into this book. In my opinion, it started off kind of slow compared to what I'm used to and what I was expecting. However, overall, I found it quite entertaining. I just finished listening to the entire series (or what's available), and I must say that Book 1 isn't the best, but the other books make up for what this one lacks. It's definitely worth a listen. One aspect I particularly enjoy is how the author concludes each book. Unlike other series, you don't necessarily have to listen to the books in order.
