    Have you ever been that person who claims to never read celebrity gossip magazines, but secretly flips through them while waiting in line at the grocery store, trying to look cool with your fancy sunglasses on? Well, I have to admit, that's totally me! And that's exactly the mindset I had when I was searching for a juicy book about the Casey Anthony case. Now, regardless of where your sympathies lie, it's hard not to be frustrated by what happened in the jury room. Reading between the lines, this book gives us some insight into that. It was a huge injustice, no doubt about it. But for the purposes of this review, let's put that aside. Jeff Ashton is definitely not your typical attorney, and that's exactly what I saw when I watched him on TV during the trial. Sometimes, I thought he was too laid-back, but after reading this amazing book, I realized he was like a cool duck on the surface, calmly gliding along while working frantically underneath. I was truly impressed by how invested Jeff Ashton became in this heartbreaking case, especially considering it was the last hurrah of his legal career. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for this father of six. I have no idea how Jeff Ashton didn't have a stroke when the "not guilty" verdict was announced. This book is beautifully written, never dull, and narrated with genuine compassion. If you're into this genre, it's definitely a must-read.

    As a former court reporter, I'm constantly fascinated by the decisions made by juries. Personally, I believe that the prosecution successfully demonstrated her guilt. The book itself was captivating and skillfully written. It's hard to comprehend why someone with common sense wouldn't be able to grasp the evidence and find her guilty. The only comfort is knowing that she will face severe consequences when she answers to a higher power.

    This audiobook, "Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony," is incredibly well-written and performed. However, I am utterly baffled by the jury's decision to let her go free. It is mind-boggling how someone so obviously guilty could be set loose. This book is heart-wrenching and will leave you questioning how Casey Anthony, a clearly guilty woman, is able to live life without consequences and have as many children as she wants. At the very least, Casey Anthony should have faced consequences that would prevent her from having more children. As an attorney, my heart goes out to the prosecution team. They presented a strong case against a truly narcissistic murderer, and the fact that the victim was a two-year-old baby girl makes it even more devastating. I cannot comprehend what the jury was thinking in this situation. Jeff Ashton's book is compelling, and his performance as the narrator is professional and engaging. It is unfortunate that the outcome of the trial turned out to be so horrible for him and the rest of the prosecution team. This trial is truly an anomaly and stands as one of the biggest mistakes in recent legal history. The jurors should feel ashamed for allowing this manipulative, compulsive lying, and selfish woman to get away with killing her own child, partying for a month, and then walking free.

    This book is a captivating tale that had me hooked. Personally, I found myself aligning with the defense when it came to the evidence, so it was quite a satisfying experience to witness Ashton's defeat once again. However, I must caution you that if you were seeking additional damning evidence to be disclosed within these pages, you may find yourself let down. Regrettably, there are no groundbreaking revelations to be found here.

    Jeff Ashton did a great job with this audiobook. Not only did he provide a clear and well-thought-out review and analysis of the events surrounding the Casey Anthony case, but he also did a commendable job as the narrator, despite not being a professional in that field. Unless you were completely immersed in the Anthony case, there is a wealth of new information here that is likely to leave you with a renewed conviction that Casey Anthony is indeed guilty of murder. Considering the overwhelming amount of scientific and circumstantial evidence presented, it is truly shocking that the jury allowed this reprehensible individual to go free. After listening to this audiobook, I would sooner entertain the idea of O.J. Simpson's innocence than believe the absurd excuses offered by Casey and her lawyer, Jose Baez. I can only hope that the jury members were provided with copies of this book. As for Casey, my anger towards her is somewhat tempered by the realization that she is a complete disaster as a human being, and the chances of her avoiding further entanglements with the legal system are practically non-existent. She possesses the tendencies of a full-blown sociopath, along with the undisciplined mindset of a spoiled and immature child. Similar to O.J., it is highly likely that she will end up behind bars again, and I eagerly await that outcome. Setting aside the frustrations with the verdict, this audiobook was definitely worth the credit spent, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

    A good listen. I never understood that verdict until I read this book. Even though the author tries to blame the jury for being 'uneducated' the prosecution simply didn't prove their case. Too bad because it's obvious she had a huge part in her daughters death.
