  • Apart from the unexpected twist towards the conclusion of the novel, the writing in "Into the Fire: A Night Prince Novel" can be described as cheesy. The excessive amount of internal monologue and predictable dialogue lines make it hard to fully engage with the story. Some of the conversations between Leila and Vlad were particularly cringe-worthy, causing service groans from the reader. While I am generally a fan of this series and have even revisited several of the books multiple times, this particular installment falls short. However, the highlight of the book lies in the potential for a spin-off featuring Ian and the law guardian.
  • We've all been eagerly anticipating the final installment of this series, and I was super hyped to finally get the conclusion to Vlad and Leyla's story. However, I have to admit that I was extremely let down by this book. Instead of focusing on Vlad, the story revolves around Leyla, and I don't remember her being this weak and whiny before. Both the author and the narrator really emphasized Leyla's character in this way. I couldn't help but roll my eyes multiple times when Leyla started crying, which seems to happen for the majority of the book. The highlight of the novel is when Ian makes an appearance. I absolutely adore his character and his dry sense of humor had me in stitches. But my goodness, I will never forget how disappointing this book was, especially since it deviated from the tone of the previous installments in the series. Now, I'm eagerly looking forward to Ian's own series.
