I absolutely adore the Joe Ledger series, particularly when I listen to the audiobooks. Ray Porter's narration is absolutely phenomenal. This particular book had me thrilled with its supernatural theme, but I can't help but feel that there was untapped potential for further exploration. Without giving away any spoilers, I'll simply say that I was left wanting more, and not necessarily in a positive way. However, that's my only complaint. Other than that, the book delivered plenty of excitement, character development, and the snarky humor that Ledger fans adore.
This story is absolutely amazing! It's by far the greatest book in the Joe Ledger series. Honestly, it's the best series I've ever had the pleasure of reading!
The storyline lost its steam. There was plenty of action, but it lacked the gripping character dynamics that usually make the absurdity so enjoyable. I'll still give the next one a chance since it's Joe Ledger, but I'm hoping for a more intelligent plot next time, which is what I've come to anticipate from Mr. Porter.
