Summary
The average person has 70,000 thoughts every day, and many of those thoughts trigger a corresponding emotion. No wonder so many of us often feel like we're controlled by our emotions. Our lives would be much improved if we controlled them.
Joyce Meyer's uplifting support and her deep connection to the teachings of the Bible truly assist in redirecting and gaining control over your emotions.
This book is awesome! I really regret not reading it earlier. It would have spared me from countless issues in life. Emotions play a major role, as they influence our actions. The bottom line is, don't allow them to steer you towards disaster. Overall, it's a great read.
I just wish the provider and the description would clearly state that the author of this book approaches it from a Christian perspective. Having three Bible verses quoted within three minutes felt excessively forceful to me.
Moreover, the narrator's voice had a very prim and proper tone, which made the overall experience feel akin to attending Sunday school at a Baptist church.
I'm not into Bible studies, so I wasn't thrilled to find out that "Living Beyond Your Feelings: Controlling Emotions So They Don't Control You" is one. The summary didn't mention this, so I feel let down and like I wasted my money.
Joyce has once again created a fantastic book that I can't help but love. I only wish I had stumbled upon it 30 years ago. Additionally, Sandra's narration of this book is truly enjoyable. While I appreciate watching Joyce on TV and reading her books, I must admit that I actually prefer some of the narrators she's chosen for her audio books, with Sandra being one of my top two favorites. If you're uncertain, I recommend giving the sample a listen before diving in. I want to express my gratitude to both Joyce and Sandra for this incredibly insightful lesson. I've listened to it multiple times, and each time I discover something valuable.
If you're famous for your voice, then you should be the one reading it. Initially, I had to overlook the way it was narrated, but once I did, I gained something valuable from this book.
The narrator is absolutely awful! Their voice is beyond annoying.
The book itself is pretty good, but I really regret not purchasing it in physical form.
