While I do have a disagreement with the author regarding the significance of diagnoses (or what he refers to as "labels"), I still believe they offer valuable insights into identifying the specific lagging skills of individual children and serve as a great starting point for understanding their needs. Prior to reading this book, I had also read the author's previous work, "The Explosive Child," and I can confidently say that this one surpasses it in terms of the relatable examples provided and the practical advice given. If you're unsure which one to pick up, I highly recommend going straight to this one - it's fantastic!

I'm trying to find a way to subtly suggest this book to my son's teacher and principal. It's really important because the school is constantly dealing with problems and everyone is getting tired from using reward and punishment methods, stickers, and treats. If they read this book, it could make a big difference. I think all educators should be required to read it, and most parents should be recommended it as well. It can save a lot of time. I actually listened to "The Explosive Child" first, and that one is also really great.
I really hope that educators would take the time to read this book and put into practice the principles discussed in it. It offers viable solutions for the challenging problems that schools are currently grappling with. I haven't come across any other resource that presents such a sensible and practical approach. I strongly urge everyone to read it, share it, and continually refer back to its teachings. I genuinely believe that we have the ability to overcome these challenges.
