This lady has made the decision to recount her personal experience, from the period leading up to, and including, her years spent with the Manson family. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire narrative and the person who narrated it. It brings me great joy to know that Diane has discovered happiness and a sense of fulfillment in her life. I admire her courage in choosing to share with us what she went through. I am genuinely delighted that she has managed to find healing and achieve success in her life!
This woman is incredibly strong. Her story is about conquering obstacles and discovering hope. I wasn't even alive until 1967, so I didn't know much about the Family or Manson. However, she managed to bring it all to life in a way that I could truly grasp. It's truly remarkable how incredible she is.
I was really intrigued by this story. I was eager to hear a firsthand account from someone who was part of "the family" but wasn't in prison, and this book provided a very relatable and captivating narrative that was refreshingly honest. However, I did find myself hoping for more information about her life after leaving the family, such as how she reconciled with that part of her past and what her current life is like. I was curious if she still maintains any connections with people from that group and how they are doing today. I guess I was looking for more of a "where are they now" kind of conclusion. Though it didn't quite meet my expectations in that aspect, overall, it was still a great story and I'm glad I gave it a listen.
If you're really into this topic and have read a lot of books on it, save this one for last. Dianne Lake does a great job of bringing humanity to the Manson Family story, and her narration really adds to the overall experience. She emphasizes that her testimony is the most important one, and it definitely resonates.
I absolutely loved this book. It's so amazing to witness someone acknowledging Jesus for their journey towards healing. This book has truly touched my heart and brought me immense joy.
I really loved reading this genuine and heartfelt retelling of the harrowing experiences of this young individual and her quest to find her identity in a world filled with negative influences, all of which were supposed to be her protectors.
