  • I was really looking forward to diving into the world of Cat and Bones in this book, with their usual dynamic of fighting enemies, engaging in steamy encounters (which honestly made me blush), encountering intriguing supporting characters like Spade, Vlad, and Ian, not to mention the stunning vampires. However, what I got instead was a chaotic and confusing journey across the country, as they pursued an unstoppable ghostly monster. And unfortunately, the funny and laugh-out-loud moments were few and far between. It seems that the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here. I couldn't bring myself to continue reading after reaching Chapter 22. Here's to hoping that the next book will provide a more enjoyable and fulfilling reading experience.
  • The Night Huntress series just keeps getting better and better. In this sixth installment, Cat finds herself facing off against a particularly nasty ghost. This isn't your average ghost, it's the kind that Cat knows exactly how to handle. The story picks up right where the previous book left off, with the very last words of book five seamlessly flowing into book six. Crispin, also known as Bones, continues to provide his trademark entertainment, alongside the beloved characters we've all grown to love, with one notable exception. The presence of Fabian and others adds to the heart of the story, which I find absolutely delightful. I'm curious to see how this will impact future novels. By now, I've become accustomed to Gilbert's narration of Bones, and it bothers me less. I'm reluctantly giving her credit for a job well done on this one. It's important to read book five in order to fully understand and appreciate this book. Skipping it would be a mistake, as it provides crucial context for the sixth book. Trust me, you don't want to be left scratching your head. I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment, even though it appears to be a shorter novel titled "Home for the Holidays." It should be a fast-paced read. Overall, I highly recommend this book and give it a big thumbs up.
  • Jeaniene Frost's writing is absolutely fantastic and incredibly entertaining, which alone would be worth reading and thoroughly enjoying her books. However, the real jackpot is having Tavia Gilbert not only narrate, but also bring the books to life in such an extraordinary way! I can't help but wonder if Tavia will come to my rescue when the folks with those white jackets that fasten in the back find me hysterically laughing at the most inappropriate moments! The characters in the story are both relatable and resilient, leaving you desperately eager to find out what they'll do next!
  • I gotta say, I'm a die-hard fan of Jeaniene Frost. I'm totally hooked on everything she writes. I'll definitely keep buying and devouring whatever she puts out. Can't get enough of Cat, Bones, and their crew.
  • I reckon that the Night Huntress books may be a tad too excessive for some folks. They're definitely a thrilling blend of romance and adventure. Personally, I absolutely love the characters, the romance, the humor, and the excitement. I wholeheartedly suggest giving the series a go, and I'm eagerly anticipating the next book, "Up From the Grave."
  • Frost always manages to keep the excitement going, and this latest addition to the Night Huntress series doesn't disappoint. In this installment, Cat and Bones embark on a thrilling ghost-hunting adventure. Frost has a knack for introducing entertaining and captivating new characters, all while maintaining her infectious sense of humor. It's always a pleasure to dive into another one of her fantastic books. And of course, Tavia Gilbert's narration is spot-on as usual.
  • If you're a fan of the Night Huntress series, this book might catch you off guard. It deviates from the usual formula. To begin with, Cat isn't in immediate danger herself. Instead, she actively seeks it out to aid others, which is somewhat similar to previous books. However, the level of threat to Cat is significantly lower in this installment. It lacks the same intense and thrilling atmosphere. Additionally, the dialogue takes a different approach. There's more introspection than actual conversation, and honestly, I grew weary of Cat's internal monologues. Lastly, Bones, well, he's not quite himself in this book. He hardly speaks, and when he does, it's only short and snappy remarks. It's a departure from his cunning and strategic thinking that I've become accustomed to in the previous books. He transitions from a leader and protector to a follower, allowing Cat to take charge in ways that don't align with his character. Furthermore, Bones' voice sounds remarkably different in this book. So much so that it doesn't feel like the Bones I've come to know in the earlier books. Overall, I found myself questioning why I was still invested in this book. It didn't provide the same level of enjoyment as its predecessors, and the storyline didn't captivate me as much. If you're anticipating another book that aligns with the previous ones in the Night Huntress series, you may be disappointed.
