  • At the beginning, this book seemed a bit slow and, to be totally honest, I was on the verge of giving up. But man, am I glad I stuck with it! It became absolutely amazing! The characters had me both thrilled and anxious, but around three hours into it, the book completely captivated me and I found myself completely engrossed, unable to stop listening. The ending was so intense that I had to replay the last five minutes multiple times!
  • I had no clue that Delirium was the first installment in a trilogy until I stumbled upon Pandemonium on the front page of the service a few days ago. What a pleasant surprise! I absolutely adored Delirium and was in dire need of an engaging listen this week. First and foremost, the narration is spot on. Sarah Drew's performance captures all the emotions and poetic essence of the book. The structure of the story is different from the more straightforward approach used in the first book. Pandemonium alternates between "Then" (depicting Lena's time in the Wilds) and "Now" (chronicling her adventures in New York as part of the Resistance). This format helps maintain a consistent pace, spreading the romance throughout the entire book rather than cramming it all into the second half. Personally, I had no trouble keeping track of Lena's whereabouts, and both storylines are equally captivating and heart-wrenching. There were certain parts that dragged, particularly Lena and Julian's arduous underground journey. Additionally, some of the plot developments were predictable, like the revelation of the Resistance's darker side. However, these are minor complaints. The ending was shocking, although not entirely unexpected. I am eagerly anticipating the next book. Hopefully, the wait won't be too long!
  • I really enjoyed the storyline in Delirium more than in Pandemonium, but I absolutely loved the timeshift perspective in Pandemonium. It made me feel like I was watching a movie as I listened to the narration. The flashbacks were perfectly placed and added an extra layer of excitement as the story progressed. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but let me just say that the ending had me on the edge of my seat! Even though I had a feeling it was coming, I was still completely shocked by what happened. Be prepared for some heartbreak in this sequel. It's a real emotional rollercoaster, especially if you've already listened to Delirium. The events in Pandemonium can be quite depressing. One thing I noticed is that the story felt a bit predictable. The author tries to hint at what's going to happen, but it's not very subtle. Anyone with a bit of intelligence can easily figure out what the author is foreshadowing. Despite the predictability, I still think the book is beautifully written and I enjoyed listening to the story unfold. I heard that the third book won't be released until Spring 2013. If you finish Pandemonium and have to wait a whole year for the final installment, you're going to feel like a tortured soul.
