Summary
Joyce Meyer has a knack for coining phrases-her fans call them Joyceisms-and one of her best loved is "Where the mind goes, the man follows." This was the basis for Battlefield of the Mind, and in her latest book, Meyer provides "power thoughts," bringing the reader to a new level of ability to use the mind as a tool to achievement.
Big shoutout to Mama Joyce and her amazing family and ministry for giving all the praise and glory to our Lord and Savior, King Jesus Christ. May God bless them abundantly!
I'm a big fan of Joyce and all her books and conferences. I wholeheartedly suggest this book, although regrettably, I cannot vouch for the audio version. The narrator was quite challenging to listen to, as she would announce each word as if it were its own separate sentence. I hope she discovers a different role that aligns better with her skills. Nonetheless, I appreciate her time and effort in creating this audiobook, and I'm certain she did her best.
I was really looking forward to hearing Joyce Meyer's voice in this audiobook. I made the mistake of not checking who the narrator was before buying it. To be honest, I find it to be quite simplistic and it didn't leave a strong impression on me.
If you're looking to build a close bond with God or seeking to enhance discipline in your life through worship, "Power Thoughts: 12 Strategies for Winning the Battle of the Mind" is an excellent read. It also offers valuable insights on how to transform your thinking patterns.
The excessive use of Bible references and constant emphasis on Christian beliefs can be overwhelming. Even if you can look past that, the excessive rambling and lack of clarity make it difficult to grasp the main ideas being presented.
There is a lack of originality in the material, as quotes from James Allen are presented without proper attribution. It is unclear why this is done, but the author seems to suggest that Eastern religions are false and that new age beliefs promote unlimited freedom. As a result, she may not officially endorse James Allen's teachings.
While the author may have valid points for those who strongly adhere to fundamentalist Christian beliefs, be prepared for an overwhelming amount of dogma if that is not your perspective.
While there were moments when the Bible references interrupted my train of thought regarding the author's message, ultimately I found myself eager to give it another listen.
As a Christian myself, I would personally recommend giving this audiobook a pass unless you share the belief in the existence of Satan as the adversary one must conquer with the assistance of God to attain success.
I found this book to be incredibly helpful. I've always struggled with maintaining a positive mindset and having the necessary faith to allow God to guide me. This book has provided me with the tools to break free from repetitive patterns and make positive changes in my life.
I'm amazed. Thank you God! This is exactly what I have been missing in my life. I am sure this book is going to save my life! family! Everything! I'm a believer, but the way Joyce Meyer delivers the Word of God is seemingly customized for me. ???? ???? woo woo Thank you Jesus!
