Summary
In Danielle Steel's thrilling novel, a woman's legacy-shaped by tragedy, fortitude, and undying devotion-transforms lives and hearts long after she is gone, and fulfills at last her most precious bequest.
I had a great time listening to this audiobook and found the characters to be absolutely fantastic. As someone who's more advanced in age, I particularly appreciated the love story, which brought a sense of rejuvenation and excitement.
The listener just wants to experience each part of the story once, but this author has a tendency to repeat and reiterate everything to every character involved. First, he shares it with his mother, then with another person, and then with yet another person. As if that weren't enough, his mother tells it to someone else, who then passes it on to another individual. And let's not forget about all the unnecessary details. It's quite tiresome, to be honest. This book could have easily been half the length it is.
I think that the book involved too many female characters for a male voice. In that sense, the narrator did a good job, probably the best he was able to.
