I just want to say how much I appreciate this book. And thank you for creating this series of books in general. It's a shame there aren't more of them.
I'm blown away! Completely smitten with Blue and the Raven boys. And let me tell you, this story exceeded all expectations! It hooks you in right from the start and doesn't let go until the very end. Brace yourself for intense emotions that'll make your heart race. You'll be so engrossed in the narrative that you won't be able to help but audibly (and unintentionally) gasp in certain moments. Will Patton, the narrator, is absolutely amazing. Every character feels distinct with their own unique voice, and his tone effortlessly sets the mood for each scene.
I'm so bummed that it's finished! Gotta admit, some of my favorite characters were Greenmantle because he had this magnetic and sneaky vibe, and I really dug the way Will Paton brought him to life.
The Grey man was awesome, too. It was cool to see how he went from being this emotionless assassin to rediscovering his true self.
The whole journey was just freaking fantastic. Really wish there was more to experience! I was devastated when they didn't find Glendower. I was totally expecting an epic showdown between the King and the demon, and the ending twist with Noah caught me off guard!
Outstanding job, seriously.
While the plot may seem intricate and bewildering on occasions, the narration truly brings these phenomenal characters to life. In fact, this narrator surpasses all others I've encountered, possessing a voice that is rugged and rough, infusing these characters with vitality.
This book is a total chaotic mess that attempts to find a reason for its existence, but ultimately sacrifices its essence for a disappointing and underwhelming conclusion.
This book, "The Raven King: The Raven Cycle, Book 4," weaves together a captivating story that truly engages your senses and emotions. It pushes the boundaries of your imagination while grounding you in the rawness of human nature and the imperfect realities of love, life, and the bittersweet experiences of existence.
I can't even begin to comprehend the sheer creativity and profound wisdom required to write a series with so much unspoken truth and depth. Even days after finishing it, I'm still struggling to fully transition back to reality, still feeling the lingering presence of Cadeswater and Henrietta. Until the very end, the conclusion remains elusive, and the unexpected twists and turns keep you on your toes.
The writing is absolutely phenomenal and the narration flawlessly enhances the experience. It's mind-boggling how the narrator brings to life a multitude of characters and effectively captures the essence of the story and its setting through every word, sigh, and punctuation mark. The execution is nothing short of masterful.
I am utterly blown away by this book. It has reshaped my perspective, leaving me deeply contemplative about life, friendship, and the concept of family wherever we may find it. It has reminded me of the importance of embracing our own unique journey and the power we possess to shape the world according to our desires. From now on, I will "close my eyes and dream" with a clear purpose, knowing that what I envision has the potential to shape the future.
I really enjoyed 'The Raven King: The Raven Cycle, Book 4' as it was the final installment of the series. The story was refreshingly different from traditional books, offering a unique and enjoyable experience. The concept of time being circular was a fascinating aspect of the story. Although the ending was considered "happy," it took an unexpected turn, which added to its charm. I must mention that Will Patton, the narrator, was absolutely fantastic. His voice was captivating, and he skillfully gave each character their own distinct sound. This made listening to the audiobook a breeze, without having to pause frequently to decipher the reader's words.
I've been a huge fan of this entire series, but let me tell you, this book is hands down my favorite. Maggie's use of language is so damn poetic, it's like music to my ears. The action, plot, and characters are all expertly woven together to give us a conclusion that is just so satisfying. And the best part? There's a little crack left in the door for potential future extensions of the story. It's like the door isn't completely closed, just kind of hanging loose. So for all you series fans and Stiefvater enthusiasts out there, trust me, you won't be let down by this one!
The Raven King is a book that manages to both surprise and not surprise at the same time. There are certain moments that you can see coming from a mile away, but when they actually happen, they catch you off guard. This book manages to evoke both joy and sorrow in equal measure. When I say I love this series, it's not the same kind of love I have for things like chocolate, thunderstorms, or traveling. It's a love that feels like revisiting your favorite dream, one that you wish you could stay in for hours. The Raven Cycle is truly unique, and I doubt I'll ever come across anything like it again. It's simply wonderful.
I personally believe that Will Patton was born to narrate these books. At first, I thought it was an odd choice since he's an adult man, but his accent and the emotion he puts into it really elevate the experience of listening to these books.
