  • A year has passed since the events of the story, and it seems like some of the death merchants are slacking off on their responsibilities. This has resulted in thousands of souls going missing, and to make matters worse, a new antagonist has appeared on the scene, ready to take advantage of the situation. Sophie, the protagonist, has a mouth like a sailor and the confidence of Kobe Bryant. Meanwhile, Charlie has an intriguing storyline that I won't spoil, but let's just say it's the most hilarious part of the book. While this sequel may not quite measure up to the first installment, it still surpasses the average standard. What adds to the suspense is the knowledge that the author isn't afraid to eliminate major characters, making it even more thrilling when our beloved protagonists face off against this dangerous adversary.
  • I knew what I was getting into with this book and it delivered exactly as I anticipated. It was an absolute blast and a breeze to read. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who loves Christopher Moore's work.
  • I finished listening to the entire audiobook of 'Secondhand Souls: A Novel' in under 24 hours. I was hooked and couldn't tear myself away! Christopher Moore never disappoints in his ability to create captivating and well-developed characters.
  • You have to appreciate Christopher Moore to get into this book. There are strange pieces that make it hard to explain why you like the book. It's not my favorite book of his, but still a solid read.
  • I don't even know where to start. I think you need to read the first book to really appreciate Secondhand Souls in all its glorious silliness. My favorite (paraphrased) line in the book is [spoken with all seriousness]: "I can't call the precinct about a 14-inch person with the head of a cat talking about cheese monsters." I liked the book. I need more Chris Moore.
