  • This book sticks to the classic Rocky formula, with moments of doubt and eventual triumph. Nonetheless, it's a fantastic audiobook that I'm thrilled to have bought! Obama truly shines as the incredible, compassionate, skilled, and brilliant man that he is. Getting a glimpse into his personal side has deepened my admiration for our former president.
  • This audiobook offers an intriguing glimpse into the Obama years, providing an insider's perspective. It is filled with thought-provoking insights, delivered with a touch of sensitivity, and will surely leave you in stitches with its humorous anecdotes. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
  • This audiobook offers a unique glimpse into the inner workings of the Oval Office...pretty much just your typical mix of humor, stress, mistakes, celebratory moments, which humanizes the 44th President while still showing respect! Without a doubt, the unwavering level of excellence brought to the office is something that cannot be erased from history!
  • I really appreciate David's willingness to share his experiences as an organizer in Ohio during both 2008 and 2012. It's a fascinating story that sheds light on a lesser-known aspect of those years. Additionally, he reminds us that while things may not be perfect, there is always room for improvement and hope. I particularly enjoyed the humorous anecdote about Hitler (definitely a must-read!). The author's singing was also a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend checking out the audiobook version read by the author, which includes a cameo performance by a certain someone.
  • David touched on important points that we should all keep in mind. The reception our first black President received in September 2010, with a crowd of 75,000 people supposedly protesting higher taxes, was actually driven by underlying racism. McConnell strategically obstructed, fully aware that presidents are often held responsible for such issues. There were other noteworthy aspects discussed. Personally, I hold President Obama in high esteem, but David provided valuable insights into the inner workings of the White House and the exceptional leadership of a great president.
  • Being an Aussie, I've managed to steer clear of some of the mind-numbingly conservative nonsense thanks to my country's lack of significance. This book not only serves as an enjoyable tribute, but it also sheds light on the strengths and weaknesses of Western democracies. It's a wake-up call, reminding us to stop being complacent and step up to make a difference.
  • I absolutely loved this book. It gave me such a boost just diving into the memories of the Obama years, especially when everything nowadays seems so bleak. I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions, laughing one moment and shedding a tear the next. The part where David Litt attempts to teach Obama Hebrew was hands down my favorite. I really hope that David Litt gets a chance to read these reviews, because he mentioned in the book how no one was offering a course on Obama's speeches. But guess what? When I told my fiancé that I was reading this book, she already knew who David Litt was because she took a class on President Obama's speeches at the University of Chicago.
  • This book really captures the essence of the Obama administration. It manages to be both amusing and thought-provoking at the same time. You should definitely give this book a read or listen to, just to maintain a glimmer of hope that our current troubling political situation won't endure for too long. The part about the final stretch, particularly the incident in Charleston, South Carolina, is absolutely incredible.
  • This book was a complete disappointment. I wasted so much time listening to this person arrogantly boast about their advantages in this autobiography. A solid zero out of ten rating from me, and I definitely would not suggest it.
