  • After reading the other reviews prior to downloading this audiobook, I had some reservations. However, my overall satisfaction level was quite high. I'm not a die-hard football fan, but I do enjoy watching college games without being too fanatical or having any allegiance to a specific US college. Considering this, I was a bit worried about the balance between the coverage of football and Michael Oher's personal journey and growth as a college player. However, I found the balance to be fairly even. The book not only sheds light on the game of football but also explores how it has evolved to allow individuals like Michael Oher to make a significant impact. The narration was well done, keeping me engaged throughout, and the length of the audiobook was just right. It concluded at the perfect moment, leaving me satisfied.
  • As an NFL fan from overseas, I found the material in 'The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game' to be both captivating and enlightening. However, I couldn't help but feel that it would have been better suited as an article in a sports magazine. The excessive and lengthy descriptions of scenery, as well as the extensive dialogue exchanges presented in a "he said : she said" format, reminded me of my college days when I struggled to meet the word count for an assignment and had to resort to padding it out with unnecessary details.
  • I was taken aback by how much I enjoyed this book. Michael Lewis has a talent for making any subject captivating, but as someone who isn't particularly interested in football, I initially hesitated to read this book, despite my admiration for his previous works. However, it goes to show that any topic can become fascinating when presented with the right amount of passion and insight by a talented writer. The story had me completely engrossed during my daily commute. Alongside delving into the evolution of football, the author fearlessly tackles the issues of racism that arise from the adoption of a young black man by a white family, which are subtly addressed in fictional works like Ann Patchett's 'RUN'. Surprisingly, despite my strong preference for fiction, I found this non-fiction account to be more impactful. The narration was also top-notch. This book was a pleasant surprise that pushed me out of my comfort zone and became a personal favorite.
