This book follows the journey of Willow and her mother, who had her at the age of 58, leaving Willow with fears about her mother's mortality due to her "old" age. It's an entertaining and lively story with a fantastic cast of characters, brilliantly brought to life by the talented Jenna Lamia as the narrator. The characters are incredibly well-developed, and I became so deeply invested in their lives that I never wanted the story to come to an end. Willow is a captivating protagonist, Polly is absolutely wonderful, and Phoenix stole my heart as my personal favorite. By the end of the book, I felt like I truly knew these characters inside out and I adored them, flaws and all. Jenna Lamia's narration is spot-on for each character, particularly capturing the essence of Willow, Polly, and Phoenix. The writing is sharp and witty, making this an all-around fantastic read!
I gotta say, 'The Book of Polly: A Novel' is up there with the best audiobooks I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Jenna Lamia's narration is absolutely captivating, and she really brings the story to life. And speaking of the story, it's just downright charming!
