  • I couldn't finish the entire book because I had to skip 20 chapters due to my strong urge to throttle the narrator. Their performance was terrible, and I have no interest in listening to them narrate any other book. However, the story itself was good.
  • I'm a big fan of this series, but I really wish they would stick to one narrator throughout. The narrator for this installment had a tendency to repeat himself quite a bit, which was a bit distracting.
  • The story has a lot of unnecessary details that slow it down. The authors could use some editing help. I ended up skipping the parts that weren't important to the main plot, which improved the experience.
  • I have to mention that the whole "Pendergast smart, ranking police officer stupid and selfish" concept has become tiresome, and it's definitely the biggest downside to the book. It would be refreshing to see competent individuals within the NYPD who aren't constantly working against Pendergast. However, despite this, the plot line was captivating and left me eager to discover the outcome. Additionally, some of the peculiar historical trivia added an extra layer of interest. While I acknowledge that these details are more representative than actual history, the concept of the "Cabinets of Curiosities" was fascinating during its time. There were a few instances where a sentence or two were repeated, which was a bit bothersome, but it didn't hinder the overall storyline.
  • Alright, here's my take on the review: Okay, let me tell you about this book - it's actually the third installment in the series, and boy, it was a great read! However, I must admit there were a few instances where lines were repeated during the narration, which kind of put a damper on the experience. Additionally, I wasn't really vibing with the reader. You see, I'm a big audiobook connoisseur, and the reader can really make or break the whole thing for me, you know what I mean? But putting that aside, this book was truly fantastic! Can't wait for the next one, and fingers crossed for a different reader this time around!
  • In my opinion, this book was not only an incredible tale but also a mind-blowing display of imagination. The visuals were incredibly vibrant and lavish - I absolutely adored it. However, I do have one gripe - there were a few instances where the narrator repeated certain passages. What on earth? It was quite irritating and definitely a first for me.
