I'm absolutely hooked on this book series, man! It's such a bummer that there's only one book left in the whole series. No lie, I've never shed so many tears while reading a book. But listen, don't get it twisted, this book really hit me deep and I felt every emotion like it was my own. No doubt, I'll be going back to read all of these books again. It's a must-read, no doubt.
Chapters 5 - 11 really got under my skin! Why subject the children to such harshness? I don't want to spoil the story for those who haven't read it yet, but there were many aspects of this book that really struck a nerve with me. The downfall of certain characters who were once so powerful in the series was quite disheartening. It felt like there were loose ends left untied. It would have been nice to see some positivity amidst all the negativity in the book.
The entire Cartel series, books 1-7, is absolutely incredible. My heart was racing with every twist and turn of the story. From Mecca's shocking actions against his own family to Mia's involvement with the Carters' Mother, it was all just mind-blowing. Let me tell you, this series is an absolute must-read. Even when you might think it's going to slow down, it surprises you and keeps you hooked. Trust me, you won't be able to put it down.
Do we have any news on when the next book in the series will be released? I absolutely loved this book, it was incredible! I'm definitely planning on reading it again.
What a fantastic way to conclude the story! Rather than meeting his end by a bullet, Carter's heartbreak becomes the ultimate cause of his demise. It's clear that there needs to be another book to delve into the aftermath. Breeze and Miamor find themselves behind bars, but it's possible for their two cousins to reignite the flame and get things back on track. Miamor has the potential to step into her rightful role as the mother/aunt and queen she was destined to be. Let the queen live long! It seems that Aries manages to save Breeze's husband from his own self-destructive path, resulting in an excellent ending.
I was aware of Anari's immense power, and I had high hopes that she would manage to break Miamora out of prison and reach Carter before his untimely demise. I strongly believe that the heart attack he suffered was a direct result of whatever ghost had him trapped.
I usually don't write reviews that aren't extremely positive, but this one... I didn't enjoy it at all! I don't understand the purpose of going through everything if everyone was just going to die or end up in jail! I would have preferred to see Moe and CJ being guided by their fathers instead. Why did Carter have to die? It doesn't make any sense, and I'm extremely upset. Actually, I'm really, really angry about it. Really, really angry.
The book was solid, but it bothered me that they decided to change the narrators in the seventh installment. Breeze's voice reminded me of either Michael or Janet Jackson.
