Me and my hubby put on the audio version of 'The Christmas Sweater' during our road trip to Myrtle Beach. Usually, we take a bunch of pit stops along the way, but this time we were so hooked that we drove non-stop without even thinking of turning it off. I tell ya, this book was so good, I'm handing out copies to my fam as Christmas presents. We absolutely adored it.
No matter what your opinion of Glenn Beck may be, it's still worth giving this book a read. I picked it up simply because it was a bestseller on The New York Times list, without even knowing who Beck was at the time.
"The Christmas Sweater" is an incredibly touching and heartfelt story, one that resonated with me profoundly. It reminds us of what truly matters in life. Personally, I connected with the narrative as I've also cherished certain possessions from my past that hold immeasurable sentimental value.
While Beck's political views may be unconventional, it's important to set aside any reservations and appreciate him as a talented writer. I might not agree with his politics, but I'm definitely interested in exploring more of his storytelling.
Glenn Beck really brought this story to life. My hubby caught the live show, we both delved into the hardcover version, and I personally tuned in to the audiobook. Regardless of your perspective, this book is absolutely amazing, packed with raw emotion, so make sure you've got some tissues on hand. :J
anyone who has parents should read this book. Anyone who has struggled through their teen years. especially directed towards young men, anyone of any age or gender will identify with this character and enjoy reading this book. just like eddie, the main character, keep going after the first big disappointment. It really is just the beginning. I almost gave up on eddie after that. i didn't think i could continue. but i'm so glad i did! I couldn't put the book down
This is a great book filled with reminiscing for baby boomer age folks like me! I can relate to a lot of the environment Ed grew up in.
He was feeling sorry for himself like so many kids do, then a series of events brought him back around. My kids wanted to stay in the car and listen even after we got home...
This probably doesn't appeal to the desensitized over stimulated reader (especially without family) - but it appealed very much to me and my family. Perhaps those who don't like it see themselves in the angry Ed?
This book was GREAT!! Funny, touching, thought provoking, surprising. I enjoyed listening to this story, especially the relationship with Eddie and his Grandfather. The story makes you think about all the things that people in your life sacrafice for you and what they would do for you and how much you would miss it when it's gone.
