  • I didn't want the book to end. I enjoyed every single minute of it. It made me laugh and cry. There were many important issues that I had actually forgotten about, but thanks to The Daily Show, they were brought to my attention. I really miss the show, but at least I still have Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert, and John Oliver to watch, knowing that John Stewart had a hand in helping them. He is truly a remarkable and generous person.
  • Every well-known person's voice in the audiobook 'The Daily Show (the AudioBook): An Oral History as Told by Jon Stewart, the Correspondents, Staff and Guests' is not unique and that can be quite bothersome. It becomes quite frustrating to listen to the slow-paced introduction of every new paragraph, like "Steeeeppphhheennn Colbeeeeert." It can really get on your nerves.
  • This audiobook is an absolute gem for fans of 'The Daily Show.' It offers a fascinating glimpse into the show's history, from its humble beginnings to its evolution over time. Moreover, it presents an array of captivating anecdotes shared by Jon Stewart, the talented correspondents, dedicated staff, and remarkable guests who contributed to making the show such a success.
  • While the printed version of this book may be enjoyable, the audiobook version is undeniably disappointing. A significant portion of the narration is dedicated to clarifying who is speaking, even though we are familiar with the voices of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carrell, and other cast members. Instead of having the actual individuals narrate, the book resorts to repeatedly explaining the origin of each opinion or joke. Unfortunately, this compilation incorporates far too many voices, making it an arduous listen.
  • Normally, I'm not a fan of audiobooks that are based on oral history because they often end up being filled with poor attempts at impersonations. However, this particular book stands out with its remarkable performances. Instead of directly imitating the voices of those being interviewed, the narrators skillfully hint at their unique tones. It may seem like a minor detail, but it genuinely captivated me and kept me hooked until the very end.
  • I quite enjoyed Jon Stewart's shows, not to the point of loving them, but I definitely had a strong liking for them. However, there came a time when I felt the need to ground myself in reality. And Jon certainly delivered on that front. However, the outcome after the election was extremely disappointing. It made me question where exactly we all went wrong. I thought we had it figured out, but somehow Trump still managed to get elected. It made me contemplate whether we had missed something crucial. Perhaps it was the influence of all those young white guys who had never even watched your show, but proudly donned baseball caps to support Trump or whatever other ideas they believed would fulfill their desires, whether that pertained to their personal lives or not. Frankly, I have no freaking clue.
  • I'm a fan of books that delve into oral history. It's great that they covered the entire span, including the Kilborn era, with a clear emphasis on the Stewart era and a glimpse into the Noah era. It would have been even better if they had included Kilborn's interview. This book brought back so many amazing memories of watching the show, taking me on a delightful trip down memory lane. I particularly enjoyed revisiting the "Even Steven" segments!
  • This audiobook offers an incredible account of the fascinating background behind an extraordinary television program and comedian who has become a cultural icon and truth advocate for my generation. It's practically demanding to be transformed into a TV documentary, with its abundance of interviews and diverse voices that contribute to the narrative.
