This audiobook is absolutely fantastic! It's as gripping as any suspenseful novel, but the best part is that it's based on true events. The writing and narration are exceptional, making for a truly outstanding experience. Personally, I'm not much of a golfer and don't have a huge interest in the game, but I enjoy general nonfiction. That's why I decided to give this audiobook a try when it was on sale. The stories of Vardon and Ouimet take place before the time of Bobby Jones, whose biography I read a few years back. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, especially if you can get your hands on the audiobook version.
I was hooked from start to finish and couldn't tear myself away. Absolutely adored this book!

The Greatest Game Ever Played: Harry Vardon, Francis Ouimet, and the Birth of Modern Golf is an absolutely amazing portrayal of what I consider to be the greatest and most iconic golf tournament of all time. However, what really takes the cake in this book is the inclusion of golf history that is seamlessly woven throughout its entirety.
The concluding history, which reveals the outcomes and trajectories of all the players and participants in the tournament, is just as captivating as the rest of the book. I commend and applaud the author for their exceptional work.
I am truly grateful for the countless hours of sheer enjoyment that this book has provided me.
