I'm a huge fan of CJ Box, and this book definitely lived up to my expectations! Just like the first Cody Hoyt novel, this story places Cody in a situation that is much darker than it seems to others. I really enjoyed the addition of Cassie Duel as Cody's partner, and I'm hoping she'll make a comeback in future installments of the series.
The narrator, Holter Graham, is fantastic and nails all the character voices perfectly! It's impressive how he seamlessly transitions between each character.
Speaking of the characters, you know the writing is top-notch when one of them gets under your skin!
My only regret is that I didn't listen to this during a road trip... now I'm hesitant to go on another one!
