I really wanted to adore this book since I'm deeply intrigued by the subject matter, but there were moments when it felt like a never-ending monologue. Unfortunately, the narrator didn't contribute positively to this aspect. Although the subject matter is relevant and captivating, it was presented in a superficial manner, lacking depth. Additionally, the ending left me wanting more, as it felt inadequate.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was such a rollercoaster of emotions and opened my eyes to new perspectives. The family dynamic depicted in the story was truly captivating. Each family member was incredibly intelligent, and even the conversations with the 5-year-old were surprisingly mature. I must admit, though, that the level of patience shown by the parents seemed a bit unbelievable, but it didn't detract from the overall narrative. The only thing I felt was missing was an epilogue; I really wanted to know what happened to Poppy.
The narration was superb, and Gabra Zackman was the perfect choice for this audiobook. She skillfully portrayed both the male and female characters, and her portrayal of the children was particularly impressive. This helped me keep track of the different characters throughout the entire book.
I was intrigued by the premise of the book, but unfortunately, I couldn't make it past the first chapter of the audiobook version.
The narrator's voice has a strange, robotic quality with an unnatural flow.
I think I'll opt for the printed version instead.
