Summary
"In the past, for reasons I try to explain, I've often felt I had to be careful in public, like I was up on a wire without a net. Now I'm letting my guard down." -Hillary Rodham Clinton, from the introduction of What Happened
I was genuinely intrigued to hear Clinton's perspective on "what happened," but after listening to about two-thirds of the book (I purchased the service version), I've decided to call it quits. The book doesn't really delve into what actually happened; instead, it focuses more on persuading the reader about how amazing she would have been as president. It comes across as both whiny and dull, completely straying from what was promised. In fact, it's so terrible that I just can't bring myself to finish it. My advice: don't waste your money and, more importantly, don't waste your time!
It's a shame that the service removed numerous negative reviews before I purchased the book. If I had read them, I definitely would have steered clear of this one!
I purchased this audiobook out of sheer curiosity, but unfortunately, it turned out to be rather dull. The author's approach essentially feels like a sermon, which left me feeling a bit disappointed. There's a lot of emphasis on blaming social media for spreading falsehoods, but personally, I feel that this falls under the realm of freedom of speech. It's safe to say that the author has gone off the deep end! I'm updating my review to reflect my extreme dislike for this audiobook.
