Summary

For years, wolf shifter Jaime Farrow has harbored a not-so-secret crush on gorgeous Dante Garcea. But the time has come for Jaime to face facts: despite her best efforts, Dante just isn't interested. And that's probably for the best. The last thing Jaime needs is for anyone - particularly Dante - to find out about her little "problem." The one that haunts her past and threatens to destroy her and everyone she loves... As the pack Beta, workaholic Dante Garcea doesn't have time for distractions - especially the kind promised by Jaime Farrow. It's all he can do to keep her at arm's length and his desire at bay. Yet when her flirtations abruptly end, Dante becomes suspicious. She's hiding something, something big, and unless he can convince her to trust him, their entire pack could be in danger. He knows hot-headed Jaime will resist him...but Dante never takes no for an answer.

  • I'm going to combine my review of Feral Sins and Wicked Cravings since both books are currently available and essentially tell the same story, just with different names for the main characters. I'm a fan of steamy romances featuring strong alpha males, so after seeing numerous 5-star reviews for this series, I couldn't wait to use my credits and get these two books. My initial experience with Feral Sins was quite hot and enjoyable, earning it a solid 4 stars. As a result, I decided to also listen to Wicked Cravings. However, upon listening to both books a second time, I realized that they weren't particularly well-written (and were essentially just recycled versions of the same story). Unfortunately, the poor writing quality hindered Jill Redfield's performance, especially when compared to her work in the Crossfire series. Throughout the book, the sentence structure was often clumsy, causing Jill to stumble over her words. This made the listening experience somewhat unsatisfying, as it was difficult to follow the story when the sentences didn't flow smoothly. I found myself rewinding and replaying certain passages to fully understand what was being said, which became frustrating. Additionally, I noticed that Jill occasionally lost the distinct voices of the characters, particularly Dante. Although she has a great range of voices at her disposal, I assume the subpar writing made it challenging for her to maintain consistency. I found the excessive sarcasm to be a bit overwhelming. While a touch of witty banter can be enjoyable, most of the sarcasm in these books felt immature and monotonous. Dominic's pick-up lines were also overused, adding to the feeling that these books were written for teenagers, which clashed with the explicit sexual content. In terms of the storyline, it was decent upon first reading, but I felt cheated when I listened to Wicked Cravings. It was obvious that Ms. Wright followed a formula (and not a particularly original one) and simply made a few minor changes for Wicked Cravings. Even the repetitive "hot, tight, and wet" phrase was present in all the same places as in Feral Sins. While dirty talk can be enticing, it would have been refreshing to see some variation between the two books. The characters were reasonably well-developed, and I did feel invested enough in their happily ever afters. However, I didn't have a strong emotional connection to any of them. It might be a good idea to tone down Greta's character as the series progresses, or perhaps even let her age naturally and eventually pass away. Despite my reservations, I'll probably give the next book a chance, as I follow the "3 strikes and you're out" policy. Additionally, I know that if I truly don't enjoy it, I can always request a refund from the service.
  • I was really excited for this book to come out after I finished reading Feral Sins. I must say, it did not disappoint. While it had a similar vibe to Feral Sins, with the female characters having similar personalities, some of the dialogues, particularly between Greta and the heroines from both books, could have been easily swapped. Apart from that, the story itself was completely different and highly entertaining, not to mention hilarious. Jill Redfield did an amazing job with the narration, and I wholeheartedly recommend this book. It was definitely worth the purchase price, so I didn't even need to use a credit.
  • I could not finish this book. The female character was not someone I could like and found it difficult to get past that fact. The guy was likable enough but the storyline wasn't strong enough for him told hold the whole book by himself and I couldn't carry on past about 3 hrs! And those were broken up over several wks! I've only listen not read the book so I don't know if this is a narration problem or a book issue.
